In honor of the incredible women in our community—mothers, daughters, sisters, cousins, aunts, and friends—we would love for you to join us as we come together to celebrate US.
What to Expect
A day filled with nourishment, connection, and community as we gather in the woods, surrounded by friendly faces. Throughout the event, we will share three special sessions led by our wonderful guests:

Saturday Studios at the Dock for 10–13 years
Discover, create, and explore nature in these inspiring Saturday Studios led by Trisha MacLaughlin, a Forest School Educator and founder of Sligo Woodland School. These workshops provide a unique opportunity for children to connect with the natural world while reflecting on the harmony between creativity and biodiversity.
Tickets are €10 for the two workshops.
Using foraged natural items, the children will design and make plant pot ponds, bee motels, bug hotels, and hedgehog nests. Each project supports and encourages biodiversity in gardens, allowing children to actively learn how to care for local wildlife in a fun and imaginative way.
The sessions also include learning various flower and leaf printing techniques to create secret garden art and magical garden doors. As the workshops progress, the children will make handmade lanterns, perfect for exploring ‘moon gardens’ at night and experiencing nature in a new light.

Sustainable Shared Spaces research team from ATU Sligo will be at Sligo Woodland School for a series FREE Nature-Based interactive workshops. All ages and community members welcome to discuss your views on shared sustained spaces. The research team will use innovative 3D models to imagine and create a space that maximises community connection and also optimises, water storage, biodiversity and health & well-being. While parents and guardians discuss their views with the research team Trisha from SWS will take the children into the woods to explore and play. Ending with a fire

Join us at the Dock for exciting, hands-on workshops led by Trisha MacLaughlin, a Forest School Educator and founder of Sligo Woodland School.
Over two Saturdays, participants will explore the native Irish Rush grass, learning to weave and print with it.
